Responsibilities and Qualifications

Compiles all necessary information timely and accurately in preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements including descriptions and supporting documentation in accordance with GAAP and the standards set by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). Performs accurate variance analysis

Reconciles and analyzes ledger accounts to maintain the integrity of the financial records.

Timely and accurate preparation of reports including, but not limited to those for Financial Audit, Tax Returns and Medicare Cost Reports.

Develop ad hoc reports as needed from Lawson, Mercy Insight and EPSi.

Special projects as assigned.

  • Education: Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Two (2) years accounting experience, preferably health care related.
  • Other: High level of proficiency in general ledger & PC applications, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Strong interpersonal communication skills, analytical abilities and organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Ability to work with and preserve confidential information. Works independently on assigned tasks. Able to self review and identify/correct errors
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree. 
  • Preferred Licensure: CPA Certification is a plus.
  • Preferred Experience: Three to Five (3-5) years experience in health care financial reporting. Public Accounting audit experience is a plus.
  • Preferred Other: Lawson skills highly preferred. Experience in the preparation of consolidating financial statements including consolidating and eliminating entries.
