Responsibilities and Qualifications

Provide services in regards to prevention, recognition, evaluation, immediate care and rehabilitation for all active individuals and sports related injuries. Overall goal is to maximize safe return to activity. The individual will also demonstrate professional development and responsibility within the field of athletic training. The incumbent will perform related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:

 

  • Graduate of athletic training program from accredited college or university and National Athletic Trainers’ Association certification as an athletic trainer.
  • Approved Clinical Instructor training obtained through Missouri State University and maintained as appropriate with University standards.
  • Certification through the Board of Certification, Inc. The individual is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. 
  • Missouri licensure for Athletic Trainer or eligible for Missouri Licensure.
  • Professional Rescuer CPR or it equivalent.
  • This individual must be trained and capable of performing patient care and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed.
