What we do on 4A,

4A is a 32 bed inpatient cardiac telemetry unit on the 4th floor at Mercy Springfield. We are a fast paced cardiac unit caring for cardiac type patients. We admit patients from the ER that is having chest pain. We monitor these patients and will send them to stress test or working with our wonderful Cardiologist to the Cardiac Cath Lab. We admit dysrhythmia patients that are monitored; medication adjustment or working closely with our Electrophysiology will send for Permanent pacemaker and recover this patient post procedure. We are also working to become the CHF floor for Mercy Springfield. The CHF physician is providing education and assistance all the time to our Nurses. Since all beds are telemetry we admit from the Emergency room any patient that requires telemetry monitoring. We use a great teamwork approach to the care we provide to our patients. You will be supported by outstanding charge nurses and peers that will welcome you to our team.  4A is a great unit to really use your clinical expertise, gain some critical thinking skills, and build new knowledge and skills to further your Nursing Career.

Average Nurse to patient ratio is 4-6 patients.
