Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Senior Financial Analyst II is responsible to collaborate in the identification, design, and implementation of innovative solutions as well as leveraging current technology to drive efficiency and value creation throughout Mercy. Individual will perform analysis on a wide selection of data as this position serves across Mercy Health System Oklahoma, which includes approximately fifteen not for profit and for profit healthcare related entities. This position will help create and oversee both financial and operational initiatives, lead projects aimed at efficiency/waste reduction/variance, provide/support training to users at all levels, and perform as needed financial and operational investigation/support to leaders of the Mercy West community. To accomplish this goal, the Senior Business Analyst will work with key stakeholders, end users and department owners to ensure processes and tools are appropriately used and consistently applied, assist in identifying potential efficiency gaps, defining areas for improvement, implement best practices, foster and drive industry standards, and work with leaders to continuously find ways to optimize.   • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or Statistics or 8 years of extensive healthcare financial experience.


  • Three years of professional level medical operational or financial management experience required.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have compassionate human relations skills with the ability to translate financial information to clinical staff in a manner that is effective and eases any concerns.
  • An excellent team-centered individual capable of treating everyone as a valued team member while anticipating customer needs and maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
  • Must be able to manage multiple, complex tasks simultaneously with an acute focus for detail and precision.
  • Ability for day travel up to 10%.


  • In depth knowledge of accrual based financial statements.
  • The ability to understand and analyze financial documents and systems.
  • Applicants must have knowledge of supervisory techniques.
  • Working knowledge of computerized financial systems including those on mainframes (ex. EPIC and OPTUM) and PC based software (ex. Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, Maptitude) required, including ability to extract data.

Preferred Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or Statistics.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous SQL report writing experience is highly desired
  • Previous EPIC Clarity report writing experience is highly desired
    Preferred Other:
  • Some basic programming knowledge a plus.
