Responsibilities and Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the Executive Director of Oncology, develops specific
  • departmental goals, standards, an objectives which directly support the Mercy Hospital and Mercy Oklahoma strategic plans, mission and vision.
  • Communicates effectively.
  • Manages Human Resources, financial resources, and promotes personal and co-worker development
  • Committed to Process Improvement, Service Excellence, and Direct Patient Care
  • Customer Service

Qualifications:

We’re all unique pieces of a puzzle at Mercy, connected together to create a beautiful picture of health. And being the perfect fit for your role requires a specific set of qualifications that you’ll bring with you:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse
  • 3 - 5 years experience in an oncology setting, with infusion and leadership experience
  • Current ONS chemotherapy & biotherapy certification Current BLS Certification (required before assigned to care for patients independently)
  • Strong leadership skills to function both independently and work with/direct a team.
  • Must be flexible, innovative in thought process, and show initiative. Must have the ability to demonstrate knowledge building/sharing and to coach.
  • Preferred Education: Master degree in nursing or health related field
  • Preferred Certifications: Oncology certification (ONS) through the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation
    Preferred Other: Formal patient education and/or group facilitator experience.
