Current Incentives:

*Sign-On Bonus: ADNs 2+ years exp. $5,000, 10+ years exp. $7,500

                               BSNs 2+ years exp. $10,000, 10+ years exp. $12,500

 *Additional Paid Time Off based on years of experience:  2-5 years 40 hours/ 6+ years 80 hours

*$2,500 Relocation Assistance                    *restrictions apply based on FTE

Position Qualifications:

  • We require a nursing degree from an accredited school.
  • You’ll also need a current RN license in our state.
  • Must have a current American Heart Association healthcare Provider card or complete a course within their probation period. Must have a current ACLS card and PALS card or complete an ACLS course and PALS course within 12 months of hire date.

Responsibilities
Essential Function 1: Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care for the patient/family which promotes optimal health, healing or dignified end of life.

Job Knowledge:
• Demonstrates technical and professional knowledge to orchestrate safe care to both unstable patients and patients not routinely in care mix of unit.
• Independently responds to emergency situations with contagious calmness.
• Utilizes professional literature to implement evidence based practice in decision making..

Essential Function 1: Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care for the patient/family which promotes optimal health, healing or dignified end of life.

Productivity:
• Manages heavy workload independently.
• Work is accurate and thorough, vigilant to hospital and unit standards and is aware of needs of other staff and offers assistance (without being asked).
• Attentive presence in identifying problem prone or high risk areas of patient care and takes responsibility for problem solving and patient advocacy.
• Utilizes downtime constructively (shares knowledge with peers) through trustworthy collaboration.

Critical Thinking:
• Evaluates critical situation, weighs pertinent information, and makes appropriate decisions independently. Assumes leadership role in emergency situations with continuous calmness.
• Directs peers to appropriate reference materials to provide clinical reasoning and decision making; promotes follow-up discussion.
• Documentation reflects patient changes and exceptions when indicated. With attentive presence identifies patient needs and potential problems and intervenes in a timely manner.

Leadership:
Must meet at least 2 of the following for continuous learning:
• Takes responsibility for completion of two or more unit/house-wide projects.
• Participates in two or more team-building activities, benefit walks, ad hoc committees, unit-based groups, etc.
• Presents at least one article review (from a National or Local level) for review or discussion).
• Presents an updated professional portfolio. (MyEducation Transcript)
• Functions as a resource person/clinical role model, both on and off the unit.)

Essential Function 2: Meets the educational needs of co-workers and patient/family, utilizing principles of teaching and continuous learning.

Job Knowledge/Critical Thinking:
• Consistently provides teaching to patient/family by identifying learning styles, cognitive level, age and cultural background. Consistently looks at the comprehensive picture and modifies teaching on an individualized basis.
• Consistently advances the nursing profession by sharing information with co-workers taking into consideration level of expertise, learning style and background.
• Draws from a working knowledge base and other appropriate resources to achieve positive learning outcomes.

Essential Function 2: Meets the educational needs of co-workers and patient/family, utilizing principles of teaching/and continuous learning.

Productivity:
• Consistently starts a comprehensive plan for teaching/learning experiences for patient/family upon admission to optimize staff/patient time utilization.
• Documents teaching and response from patients and families and follow-ups on learning needs.
• Pro-actively plans for teaching/continuous learning experiences for co-workers to optimize staff growth and patient outcomes.
