Functions as a member of the IV team in the patient care areas,in collaboration with patient care providers and allied health staff. Provide ongoing monitoring and review of care of the patients in assigned area of expertise. This position provides to patients ranging from infants to geriatrics.Will perform all work in accordance with the Mission,Vision, and Values of Mercy.
Systematic manner. Completes assessment of site during her shift and as needed.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assist with plan of care based upon the physical, psycosocial, educational, safety and other related criteria appropriate to the following age groups:Neonate/pediatric/adolescent/adult/geriatric.
Infusion therapy skills with routine inspections each shift or as needed. Starts difficult IVS.
Starts IVS in other departments. Rountinely inspects sites and pigtails on central lines and changes dressings per protocol
Utilizes verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills which reflect nursing standards.Communication is timely, accurate, concise and complete. Complies with organizational policies and procedures. Maintains a current certification in CPR.Completes competency skills inventory on a yearly basis.

Education: Graduate from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program.
Licensure: Current Oklahoma License.
Other: Demonstrates competence by completion of universal skills inventory and unit specific skills check list.
