Responsibilities and Qualifications

To assist the pharmacists in performing functions as prescribed by law & regulation for Oklahoma Pharmacy Technicians in accordance with the objectives, directives, and assigned areas of responsibility assigned by the director. All aspects of medication delivery. Assisting the pharmacist in the daily operations of the pharmacy. Will perform all work in accordance to the mission, vision and values of Mercy Memorial Health Center.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED
Licensure: 1. New Technicians are required to complete Mercy Hospitals Pharmacy Technician Training Program that follows the minimum training guidelines set by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy. Upon successful completion of the initial training, trainee may apply for a Pharmacy Technician permit with the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy. 2. Holds and maintains an active Pharmacy Technician License in good standing with the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy. 3. The Pharmacy Technician must complete Phase II: On the Job Training, within 90 days of receipt of their Pharmacy Technician permit to maintain a Pharmacy Technician License in good standing, per the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy Technician Training Guidelines - Phase I and II.
Experience: 1. One year hospital experience or equivelant training 2. Trained in general use of Pharmacy Computers
Certifications:
Other: Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills Good writing skills sufficient to communicate and reports and proposals Work accurately with attention to detail within specified times Interact cooperatively with hospital staff and pharmacy staff Adapt to changes in workload and schedule Set priorities and solve problems Foster a team environment by providing orientation and training of new co-workers Consistently alert throughout shift
Preferred Education: Basic college credits desirable.
Preferred Experience: 1. One year hospital experience or equivelant training Preferred. 2. Trained in general use of Pharmacy Computers.
Preferred Certifications: National certification as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred
