Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Lead Echo Technologist is a member of the diagnostic testing team which provides care and services to patients in the cardiovascular diagnostic IP and OP settings. Under general supervision of the CV Manager and technical direction from physicians, the Echo Technologist assumes a variety of technical and patient care functions within the diagnostic testing department following established policies, procedures and specific instructions. Additionally, the Lead Echo Technologists provides technical supervision to the other Echo Technologists as well as overseeing daily operational functions of the department such as schedules and productivity.


Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:



  • Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training.
  • Minimum of one year experience in Echo.
  • Must have one of the following: RDCS, RCS, Registry eligible by ARDMS OR CCI guidelines OR clinical experience equivalent; CPR Certification through American Heart Association for Health Care Providers.
