Responsibilities and Qualifications

The LPN will take incoming calls from patients regarding medical care. The nurse will triage phone calls within the scop of license and triage protocol. They will document in EMR all calls taken and advice given. They will document questions and route to provider or nurse pool as necessary. They will schedule appointments as necessary. They will refill medications according to written refill protocols. They will distribute refll requests to the provider/nurse pool as necessary. They will work with and communicate in a positive, cooperative, considerate and thoughtful manner with patients, co-workers, providers and management when providing information and services, seeking assistance and resolving problems.

  • Licensure: Current LPN license in Missouri required.
  • Preferred Experience: 2 years clinical experience preferred. Planning and initiative - must be able to recognize and identify patient's symptoms and use appropriate judgment in course of action. Should have a broad knowledge of general nursing practice, good history-taking skills, accurate assessments, accurate and complete documentation skills.
  • Preferred Other: Strong computer skills required. Good organizational skills Able to relate and communicate with patients over the phone, to providers and staff. Demonstrates self direction in establishing priorities and working with little supervision. Will maintain a high level of precision in judgment, accuracy of assessment and skills in problem solving based on skill level, licensure and scope of practice.
