Responsibilities and Qualifications

Transfers patients to and from patient rooms and assists in moving patients to and from x-ray table. Cleans wheelchairs and stretchers with antiseptic solution, keeps the wheelchair and stretcher area neat and orderly with the stretchers made. Will assist patients to bathroom and dressing room as needed. Will safely handle patients being transported to and from the department. Will communicate appropriately with the patient, family members, nursing staff, technical staff, physicians and others. Will operate the radiology information system, track patients, provide related information to visitors and guests. Keeps medical information confidential. Checks requisitions and orders and transports patients to appropriate areas. Handles IV’s, IV pumps, oxygen, catheters, keeps patient covered and warm. Must be familiar with radiology orders and oxygen orders related to administration levels. Will provide a variety of radiology work functions as needed.


Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent. May be in high school work study program if approved by school counselor.
  • Minimal experience required. Prefer some hospital experience.
