Responsibilities and Qualifications

This position is to assist the Clinical Pharmacist in performing functions as prescribed by law & regulation for Oklahoma (for Pharm Techs) and in accordance with the objectives, planning, and directives assigned to the areas of responsibility assigned by the Director.

  • Perform assigned duties in support of the department policies, protocols, and procedures that will ensure quality health care delivery to patients and personnel through the highest professional standards. Limited by the State Board of Pharmacy to technician duties as noted in the State Laws and Regulations.
  • Interact with other pharmacy staff members of the Mercy Health System to assure the integration of the departmental services with the organization's primary functions, to assist and support, coordinate, and to integrate services within the department of pharmacy in a harmonious, respectful, courteous, and polite manner.
  • Perform secondary duties as assigned by the Supervisor which contribute to the over-all mission and vision of the effective operation of the Department of Pharmacy.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the changes associated with age including physical, psycho/social, cultural, safety, and other age related factors.

Education: High School Diploma
Certifications: Current Oklahoma Pharmacy Technician Permit or application for Permit within 30 days.
Other: Pharmacy Technician will have the following skills: 1) Good communication and interpersonal skills; 2) Good writing skills sufficient to communicate and create reports and proposals; and 3) Skill in identifying and recommending training needs of staff. Limited Knowledge: To direct all activities of assigned responsibilities to include: a) the development and implementation of quality control procedures as directed; b) the participation on a multi-disciplinary team as directed; and c) the development, implementation, and promotion of new programs as directed.
