Responsibilities and Qualifications

Lead efforts in evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls utilizing CAAT’s (Computer Assisted Audit Tools) based on the annual audit plan. In addition prepare documentation and reports to communicate audit findings and recommendations to senior leadership under general supervision of the Director, Business Risk Services. Has a solid understanding of general controls, best practices, and business processes. Responsible for on-going monitoring and support of the ACL infrastructure and contributes to the overall department wide goals and objectives. In addition, work with process owners to define, develop and execute data analytics and implement continuous monitoring to evaluate, support, and enhance business processes. This includes leading efforts to define business requirements, identifying and extracting data, executing analyses, and preparing written documentation and deliverables.

Responsibilities and Expectations

Responsible for leading ACL audits efforts. Through the use of a data analysis tool (ACL) participates in the evaluation of the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls, processes and identifies weakness/ opportunities for improvement, along with providing recommendations to mitigate or strengthen controls. This position proactively works with staff and senior data analyst to provide guidance and support on projects related to data retrieval, analysis, and other computer assisted audit techniques. Individual will assist in mentoring and providing training related to business processes, tools and techniques used.

 

Manage Execution of Analytics

Assists in the execution of all analytics initiatives. • Lead of the planning, scoping, and execution of projects • Development of ACL scripts • Performs the drafting of questionnaires and defining data requirements, etc. to assist in analyzing business processes and controls. • Documentation of work performed • Supervision of junior data analysts, including review of documentation, deliverables and input into performance reviews. • Leads meetings to communicate necessary information and deliverables to process owners.

 

Leadership

Partner with the business on identifying recommendations to strengthen business processes and mitigate risks identified • Takes responsibility for quality of work product • Identifies and shares relevant topics with the group.

 

Building Relationships

 

Partners with management to identify constructive and value-added recommendations to address reporting needs identified • Leads meetings for assigned projects • Identifies opportunities for and participates in approved special projects, investigations or other significant business issues. Assist co-workers in applying business analytic needs and concepts with the use of approved software (e.g. ACL)

 

Administrative

Wears proper personal protective equipment when appropriate. Observes universal precautions consistently. Wears clothing and Health System badge consistent with dress code, and attends to personal hygiene to maintain a clean, well-groomed appearance. Meets Health System attendance standards. Performs related duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Poition requires a minimum of five years accounting or financial analysis experience.
Other: 1. Demonstrated knowledge with financial applications and processes 2. Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills 3. Demonstrated ability to work with leadership teams 4. Ability to frame analytical questions, perform financial analyses and communicate related results. 5. Computer literacy with intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel 6. Ability to work independently to meet project deadlines 7. Ability to work with and preserve confidential information Any travel required? (Will vary by specific position/location)

 

Preferred Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting.

  • 4-5 years Data Analytics and/or Computer Assisted Audit Tools (ACL) experience
  • Professional Certification (ACDA, CISA, CIA, CPA) or advanced degree preferred
  • Healthcare experience preferred

 

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of AuditExchange and scripting in ACL
  • Strong analytical skills, interpersonal, organizational and oral/written communication skills
  • Self-directed, and able to work independently
  • Proven ability to meet goals and work at a high performance level
  • Ability to work within a team environment and interacting with management

• Superior skills in the extraction, merging and transformation of large data sets across systems and databases environments; at least three years ACL experience required • Data analysis skills, with experience in designing analytical approach/methodology, identifying key findings, and producing output for a non-technical audience • Experience using relational database platforms including SQL and Oracle required
