Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Patient Account Office is responsible for walk-in and telephone inquires. Acts as liaison for patients, Mercy Business Office. Responsible for collecting and receipting payments, assists with insurance information, assists patients with a Financial Statements and setting up payment agreements. Responsible for balancing all cash and checks deposited to the bank daily. This coworker is expected to maintain and release valuables to patients or appropriate person according to policy. Provides excellent customer service consistent with the established guidelines and goals of Mercy Hospital. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our Mission, Values, and Mercy Service Standards.




Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:



  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Experience: Excellent communication skills, accounting knowledge and ability to type 40 wpm. Excellent computer skills, ability to use the 10-key by touch and be detail oriented.
