Responsibilities and Qualifications

Responsible for assisting the Manager-Quality in the oversight of the Infection Control program for Mercy Hospital Cassville and Mercy Hospital Aurora. Responsible for the performance of activities designed to detect, control and prevent infection in order to protect the health of patients, staff and visitors. This includes evaluating patient care activities and the performance of other departments and making recommendations concerning infection control and safety issues, researching and preparing educational materials and programs designed to identify potential infection/safety hazards and reduce potential of infection. Responsible for assisting the Administrator/Director-Nursing in the overisght and delivery of education needs/requirements to the facilities' co-workers. Responsible for coordinating American Heart Association renewal courses. Works collaboratively with leaders to provide orientation and ongoing education to co-workers. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our Mission, Values and Mercy Service Standards.



Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an approved school of Nursing. Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field of study preferred.
  • Licensure: Current RN licensure with Missouri Board of Nursing.
  • Experience: Minimum three years nursing experience. Prefer experience in related fields of infection prevention or education.
  • Certification/Registration: Must have current CPR. Must obtain ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire. Instructor certification(s) as appropriate.
  • Other: Demonstrated skill in human relations and communication is required. Must have understanding of patient care process. Must have good organizational skills, time management, and be able to coordinate large projects. Ability to work with computer database systems.
