Responsible for all clinic billing. Responsible for releasing claims from charge review WQ, fixing any claim edits, monitoring follow up WQ and addressing all claim denials, ensuring all visits are billed and submitted properly. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Submits all billing with appropriate ailments and claim information to correct insurance
based on patients benefits/coverage. Communication with billing office in St Louis to
ensure appropriate processes are followed for submission, correction, editing of claims.
Coordinates a system for ensuring all visits are billed and paid
Monitors billing to ensure appropriate diagnosis code and level of service are
Coordinates a system to verify all insurance benefits and coverage for all scheduled
procedures in advance.
Arrange and coordinate payment plans with patients in advance before procedures are
Performs other duties as requested by providers and or practice manager.
Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:
Required Bachelors Degree and/or 1 year or more clinic experience
Equivalent experience in healthcare, health insurance or other
related field for a minimum of five years
Other skills & knowledge: (skills, knowledge, abilities)
Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written and oral
communication skills with a professional attitude, demeanor and
appearance. This position must have attention to detail resulting
in clean claims and bills.
One year or greater experience in billing is desired.
