Under the direction of the Sr. Managing Director, the Managing Director provides leadership, strategic direction, and operational management to ensure that optimal patient throughout is achieved in the inpatient acute care settings with the goal of meeting cost, service, and quality objectives for the Ministry.
Responsible for the development of a comprehensive standardized patient flow solution for the purposes of Ministry standardization. The position is responsible for strategic planning, development, coordination, implementation, and sustainability of standardized patient-flow processes and metrics related to Rapid Access, Bed Placement, EVS, Patient Transport, Care Management, Nursing, Physical Medicine, Lab, Radiology, Dialysis, and Hospital based physicians.
Collaborates with senior leaders, physicians and nursing leaders across the ministry to optimize processes and implement analytic tools which will best meet patient flow goals. Works in a highly collaborative manner with department directors and managers involved in patient care, Registration, Finance, TDO, MTS, EPIC and others to make operational improvements which will maximize the Ministry’s ability to serve more patients.
Manages a team of subject matter experts/consultants that are responsible for planning, designing, and implementing standardized patient flow processes across the ministry. The Managing Director will accompany the team on-site at hospitals across the ministry during planning, designing, and implementation. The Managing Director will conduct quarterly on-site visits post implementation with hospital leadership to ensure sustainability of process improvements.
Leads an executive steering committee to ensure senior leaders stay informed and are engaged in strategic decision making. Develops standard communication channels between MTS, EPIC, and patient flow leaders to ensure long-term collaboration and optimization.
The Managing Director will be accountable for the identified metrics that are applicable and appropriate for outcomes, efficiency and to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction. Metrics: Total # of Patient Days over GMLOS, Total # of Rapid Access Referrals, Overall Teamwork HCAHPS scores.
Required Education: Bachelors
Required Experience: Min of 5 years
Preferred Education: MHA or MBA
Preferred Experience: Data/Opportunity Analysis, Lean, Change Management, Pro Forma Development
