Responsibilities and Qualifications

Provide safe and accurate entry or verification of medication orders, safely compound medications and verify medications being dispensed to patients or loaded in automated dispensing cabinetry. Monitor medication therapy for therapy duplications, correct dose and dosage forms and potential medication-medication interactions. Serve as a drug information resource to nursing, respiratory therapy, medical staff, co-workers and patients. Assist and support St. Edward Mercy in furthering its collaborative care model.


This position will be split between Mercy Hospital in Paris and in Ozark.



Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:


  • Education: Completion of a pharmacy degree program approved by the Arkansas Board of Pharmacy or foreign college of pharmacy with a transcript verification program and successful completion of pharmacy equivalency exam and communication testing.
  • Licensure: License (or license eligible) from Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy
    Other: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English Basic computer knowledge
  • Preferred Education: Doctor of Pharmacy
  • Preferred Experience: General pharmacy residency training and/or 3 years of full-time hospital pharmacist experience
  • Preferred Other: Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (PI) activities
