    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Responsible for the directing, managing and coordination of the services of the Environmental Services Department, all aspects of the supervision of it’s personnel and short-term and long-term strategic planning for the department and it’s services. Environmental Services Department responsibilities include; the clearing and sanitation of all assigned Health System properties; waste management, (general, hazardous, infectious and recyclable); laundry collection and distribution; pest control; furniture movement; re-upholstery and disposal; exterior window cleaning and interior window treatments; and maintain liaison and consultation services with non-assigned Health System properties in the mentioned areas of service. Performs related duties as assigned.



    Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related area. Related Associates Degree with significant management experience in a health care environment may be considered.
    • Training and exposure to the principals of infection control, housekeeping techniques and process improvement.
    • Five to seven years of housekeeping management experience in an institutional setting responsible for a large staff, 100 co-workers or more preferred.
