    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Overview:

    Performs as a (RN) Nurse in the Ambulatory Telemedicine program Mercy Virtual an d in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and Mercy rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and performs all duties assigned by Medical Director, in the ambulatory program, concerning patients and their care. These duties differ according to the assigned areas and range from education to care coordination.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    1. Complies with patients rights/regulations
      1. Education patient and ensure patient is comfortable with the process
      2. Patient aware video communication
    2. Makes daily virtual rounds and, makes all necessary chart entries
    3. Supports family centered care philosophy
      1. Demonstrating initiative to include family input into work processes and routine to meet patients/family needs
      2. Recognizing the patient and family according to the patient preferences
      3. Collaborate with patient and family according to patient preferences in planning and implementing care
      4. Ability to work with, and seek out resources to assist when necessary with culturally diverse populations.
      5. Coordinates work flow by communicating to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
      6. Demonstrates the ability to direct and /or assist with the work activities of the department consistent with the patient needs and staff capabilities
    4. Triage patients based on priority and patient need with Mercy virtual software
    5. Performs other duties within credentialed privileges as required by the Medical Director of the Ambulatory telemedicine program, Mercy Virtual.
    6. .   All clinical duties performed will be within the nurses scope of practice
    7. Directs/ Participates in the Quality Assurance Program within Mercy Virtual and the health care system

    Qualifications:

    Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:

     

    Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school

    Licensure: You’ll also need a current RN license in our state or eligible for Missouri license and eligible for other state licensure. Basic life support required and ACLS required after 180 days.

     Experience: Minimum of 5 years diversified direct clinical experience in nursing required.   Previous telemedicine, Internal medicine, Primary care medicine or a Critical Care experience ideal. 

    Other Knowledge, Abilities, and Skill Set:

    • Work requires analytical skills and knowledge of complex medical patients, anatomy, EKG reading (etc.).
    • Must possess interpersonal skills to interact effectively with coworkers and other Medical staff in a virtual care setting.
    • Be able to monitor multiple patients and work within a treatment team that focus on care for the patients.
    • Broad-based knowledge and clinical expertise in assessing, analyzing, intervening, and evaluating patient care. Ability to work in stressful environment ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, function within an ever changing environment, coordinate services for multiple patients with a variety of ages and diagnoses.
    • Be a team leader and direct the health care needed to meet the patient needs.
    • Must possess the ability to concentrate for long periods of time, work well under stress and be able to think and react quickly in emergencies.
