    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    The Lead application developer will help transform Mercy and it’s digital web presence to deliver an exceptional experience for the patient.  The lead application developer designs, develops, modifies, debugs and evaluates programs and applications to ensure they support the mission of Mercy.  They will leverage their technical expertise to streamline the processes and enhance our application stack to provide cost-effective solutions that reduce time to market and deliver high quality applications and web sites.  Lead Application developer will work alongside the various departments within Mercy to create engaging and elegant solutions for the desired end users.  Also the lead application developer will have the opportunity to help train and grow a team of junior developers.   Will work in an agile based development team working closely with our business partners, and other development team members to create/enhance our digital presence.

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in related field, specialized training, or equivalent work experience
    • Additional Requirements:
      • Extensive experience along the full software development life cycle
      • Extensive experience applying code management principles
    • Experience: Eight (8) years of relevant technical or business work experience in a Java environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Lead Java Developer with 8+ years of service, will be working on web applications (Java/Angular)

    - BA/BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience

    - STRONG knowledge of Object oriented design principles

    - Excellent Business Domain Modeling skills

    - STRONG communication skills

     

    Preferred Skills:

    - 5+ years experience with Java J2EE including Spring, Hibernate, Junit

    -3+ years’ experience with  Angular

    - Experience with Oracle/MySQL databases

    - Design Patterns

    - SOA

    - JQuery

    - HTML/CSS

    - JavaScript

    - Web Services (REST/SOAP)

    - Agile software development including scrum and test driven development
