    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    The Regional Lab Quality Specialist is responsible for partnering with lab site leaders for assuring compliance and meeting all regulatory requirements consistent with CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission, and other regulatory bodies. This position develops quality reports, policies and procedures to ensure compliance, and supports lab site leaders to maintain relevant documentation for inspection readiness and audit. The Regional Lab Quality Specialist will be required to exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with Mercy Signature Service in all internal and external customer interactions. Mercy Leaders are required to exhibit Mercy Leadership Attributes.

    As a member of the Mercy Regional Quality Council this role supports the Ministry Lab Executive Quality Over-site Committee, which sets the quality strategy for the entire ministry, with metric data and reporting critical quality initiative progress. This role will also provide support for the region’s laboratory locations while driving metric standardization and automation.

    Education: Bachelor's Degree

    ExperienceThree years clinical laboratory leadership.

    Certification/Registration: ASCP or equivalent of a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist or appropriate categorical certification

    Other Skills & Knowledge

    Must have demonstrated skills in leadership, oral and written communication, problem solving and organizational ability.Must be competent in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) Project management, Epic System workflows and data analytics


    Preferred Qualifications:

    EducationMasters Degree

    ExperienceFive years clinical laboratory leadership.
