    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Perform, evaluate and coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic clinical procedures as defined in the Cardiopulmonary Services scope of clinical practice, all while being observed and proctored by a credentialed respiratory therapist. Student should work and perform in accordance with physician orders. Defined duties are performed in neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient populations in intermediate, intensive care, and emergency care areas. The student therapist will work in accord to the mission, vision, and values of Mercy Memorial Health Center.



    Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:


    Education: Active involvement in an accredited respiratory therapy program
    Licensure: Active student status - or holds an Oklahoma Provisional Respiratory Care Practioners License
    Experience: Prerequisites of school requirements
    Certifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
    Other: Knowledge necessary to make appropriate clinical decisions and interaction relative to the specific age of a patient Skills lab validation/certification of competencies for the ditues and responsibilities required for an active respiratory therapist at Mercy Memorial hospital.
    Preferred Education: Actively inlvoved in an accredited CoArc respiratory therapy program, with related Associate degree.
    Preferred Certifications: Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - optional to the student Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - optional to the student
