Radiologic technologists utilize advanced imaging equipment and knowledge of cross sectional anatomy to provide quality care and useful diagnostic information.
Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:
Education: Requires high school education or equivalent. Must be a graduate of an accredited two-year program in Radiologic Technology.
Experience: Requires minor nursing skills. Ability to multi-task and react appropriately in high stress situations
Certifications: Must be certified by ARRT.
Other: CPR required. Excellent interpersonal communication, multitasking and organizational skills required.

Technical Staff Responsibilities
Works in conjunction with Radiologist
Confirms patient ID and verifies procedure requested.
Assesses factors contraindicating exam.
Evaluates lab values and/or pregnancy status
Understand and operates information systems.
Documents history, views, findings
Selects appropriate room/equipment
Images patients according to established protocols/views
Selects technical factors based on pertinent data
Reviews images for accuracy
Revises plan due to patient condition or repeats to achieve goal
Operates CT units, power injectors.
Competent in established protocols for procedures.
Keeps repeat images to a minimum, accurately adjusts technical factors.
Assists the Radiologist during invasive procedures, and tray set-up.
Correctly identifies image, Right and Left sides and other data
