  • Overview

    Overview: Provide care to patients with neuromuscular dysfunction with appropriate treatment techniques to include chiropractic manipulation and the use of acupuncture where indicated. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values and mercy service standards.



    Safety/Risk Management:

    • Implements treatment programs in a safe manner displaying a variety of treatment skills in specific treatment modalities.
    • Performs patient care to acceptable standards of professional ethics by respecting patient confidences and providing care to all persons without regard to personality or medical problems.

    Coordination of Services:

    • Assists with marketing and coordinating workshops.
    • Participates in quality improvement/program evaluation activities.
    • Assists with analyzing outcome data and providing suggestions for action.
    • Performs patient documentation and communicates with other areas in a manner that meets all quality improvement requirements.

    Primary Aspects:

    • Accurately evaluates patients functional status and relevant medical and psychosocial factors.
    • Establishes appropriate treatment plans using measurable goals.
    • Prioritizes evaluation and treatment procedures to optimize patient outcomes and goal achievement.
    • Modifies treatment or evaluation approaches as appropriate to patient response.
    • Utilizes support staff effectively.

    Complex Aspects:

    • Serves as a resource person.
    • Provides appropriate orientation to new staff.
    • Identifies new or updates programs inclusive of determining appropriate policies and procedures, training staff, and monitoring program effectiveness.

    Communication Management:

    • Provides patient and family education in a clear and concise manner throughout care and at discharge.
    • Completes all necessary written documentation via notes, conferences, charge entries - in a clear, concise, and timely manner in accordance with department policies.
    • Demonstrates ability to orally communicate effectively with other professional, patients, and family members.


    • Maintains current knowledge of technical and therapeutic advances, and provides education to others.


    Education: Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine.
    Licensure: Current Missouri licenses.
    Certifications: Certification in Acupuncture, CPR Certification.
