This is a part time position to care for patients in the north territory (north of highway 40/64) Candidates that would like to work on Saturday and Sunday only will also be considered. Thank you!
Performs personal care and other assigned duties to patients in their home under the guidance and supervision of the skilled nursing staff or therapy staff.
Drives from home to home to perform assigned tasks of personal care for each patient according to established policies and procedures. Assists patients with normal daily activities and responds to patient needs. This includes bathing oral hygiene, skin care, and hair care. Takes vital signs.
Performs procedures, treatments and exercises as assigned. Recognizes limitations of role and contraindications of treatment. Responsible for simple diagnostic procedures as assigned.
Maintains clean and safe environment while performing patient care. Identifies need for safety measures and reports unsafe conditions.
Documents all care and patient data accurately and submits paperwork within the required time. Communicates with the nursing staff, therapy staff, supervisors, and other aides regarding case and scheduling concerns. Identifies and reports changes in the patients condition and takes appropriate action when needed.
Participates in Performance Improvement activities, inservices, patient care conferences, workshops and seminars.
Assist with orientation and training of other staff members.
Participates in weekend & holiday rotation.

A combination of patient care experience and patient care training consisting of a minimum of 60 hours of classroom instruction plus a minimum of 16 hours of supervised practical training, in the competency areas specified in the Home Health Aide Competency Evaluation Check List.
CPR certification thru the American Heart Association.
Note: while we do prefere a CNA in this position, we are able to consider those that are not. A 2 week training course from 7am-3:30 would be required.
