    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Responsible for the management of staff, instrument procurement and processing for Surgical Services. Performs primary functions of assessing, planning, directing workload within the department. Assists with budgeting for instrument replacements and repairs. Implements and maintains quality and integrity within the department by establishing quality monitors. Evaluates new instrumentation. Enforces vendor policies. Implements and maintains electronic instrument tracking system. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards.


    Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:

    • High School graduate or GED equivalent required.
    • 5 years of Instrument experience necessary
    • Certification as an Instrument Technician required
    • Associate Degree or equivalent in Healthcare or related field is preferred
    • Supervisory experience preferred
