    Position Qualifications:

    • We require a nursing degree from an accredited school.
    • You’ll also need a current RN license in our state.
    • Basic life support training should be completed in 90 days with advanced training required at certain intervals.




    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Successfully completed an

      accredited school of nursing.

    • Licensure: RN license in the state of Missouri required. Must be a licensed


    • Experience: Two years general nursing experience required.

    • Certification/Registration: Possess and maintain current CPR certification.

    • Other skills & knowledge:

      Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.

      Understands Hospice philosophy; principles related to death, dying and pain/symptom management.

      Complies with Mercy Health Services Hospice Health Status requirements.

      Has excellent observation, assessment and communication skills.

      Has the ability to provide accurate documentation in a timely manner.

      Is self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

      Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation and has the ability to work with an interdisciplinary team.

      Adheres to driving on the job requirements which includes access to working and reliable transportation, driving during daylight and night time hours, and in inclement weather.



    • Experience: Recent hospice or long term care experience preferred.

    • Experience with issues related to death/dying and bereavement preferred.

    • Other skills & knowledge: Has basic computer skills as well as a working knowledge of Windows, Word, and Outlook.
