Assists with the purchase of drugs and supplies and maintains inventory of same. Under the supervision and direction of the pharmacist, fills and distributes medication orders for patients and automated dispensing cabinets. Replaces stock medication to various nursing units and enters charges and credits.
Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:
Education: High school graduate or recognized graduate equivalency degree (G.E.D.).
Licensure: Current Pharmacy Tech License for the State of Arkansas
Experience: Must have own transportation and current valid driver’s license. Requires knowledge of drug names, pharmacy math and sterile technique. Requires good reading, writing and oral communication skills. Requires basic typing and/or computer skills as well as filing and organizational skills. Use of desk top computers, copiers, pharmacy equipment and supplies.
Certifications: Current CPR certification. Pharmacy Technician Registration.
Preferred Experience: Previous hospital/pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
Preferred Certifications: Preference given for pharmacy technician certificate.
