    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of facility equipment. This would include but not limit to; chillers, boilers, pumps, motors, compressors, medical vacuums, medical air, medical gases, HVAC systems, pneumatic tube systems and electric generators. Includes water treatment chemical testing and adjusting. Generates preventative maintenance procedures. Prepares equipment for State of Missouri inspections and certifications. Conducts inspections and repairs on Life Safety equipment and Life Safety building features. Controls building HVAC equipment by using a building automation system. Provides "on call" coverage as scheduled. Performs ice/snow removal duties as needed. Performs other duties as required to maintain the building and grounds. Provides training to lower level personnel when needed. Member of the hospital Hazwoper/Decon team. Assist in security situations when needed. Performs duties and responibilities in manner consistent with our mission, values, guiding principles, and mercy service standards.




    Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:


    • Education: High School diploma
      Licensure: Missouri Class E operators license
      Experience: Five years in a related maintenance field and one year working with boilers
      Certifications: Universal Refrigerant License.
      Other: Knowledge in the following fields, building electrical, electric motor control, plumbing, HVAC, and boiler operation. Ability to read blue prints and use computerized controls systems. Basic knowledge of NFPA Electric code.
