We’re a Little Different
Our mission is clear. We bring to life a healing ministry through our compassionate care and exceptional service.
We don’t believe in jobs at Mercy, we believe in careers that match the unique gifts of unique individuals; careers that not only make the most of your skills and talents, but also your heart.
At Mercy, you’ll feel our supportive community every step of your day, especially the tough ones. We’re a team and love working that way. That team is expanding, and we currently have exceptional opportunities to help our communities grow.
Mercy’s Nurse Externship is a 9-week PAID summer program designed to be an extension of the nursing student’s formal education process. Students have opportunity to take part in the continuity of patient care and experience the realities of paid employment, staffing patterns and nurse-to-patient ratios. An RN preceptor oversees the student, providing professional clinical guidance during the program. Externs benefit from collaborative exchange, educational opportunities and supplemental learning activities.
Upon application, your area of preference will be heavily considered but is not guaranteed. Externs are required to follow the schedule of their preceptor, including weekends and holidays, and attend scheduled educational and collaborative sessions. The work requirement is 36 hours/week for 9 weeks. Externs must have successfully completed their second semester of hospital clinicals and be entering senior year.
A completed application will include:
1) Online application to Mercy.net/careers, inlcuding current resume.
Note: Many positions have an online assessment that must be completed before your application is 100% complete. Please allow 20 - 30 minutes to complete this assessment.
2) Required documents listed below must be submitted (all in one envelope) by mail or in person to Mercy Human Resources, 431 N. Monte Vista Ada, OK 74820.
