    Mercy Integrative Medicine is a special find. We believe healing goes beyond physical recovery. We take part in a complex process that involves the whole person- physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. We offer a variety of therapies that support traditional medicine: acupuncture, aromatherapy, chiropractic medicine, Healing Touch, Heartmath, Massage therapy and reflexology, as well as manual occupational and physical therapy. Massage therapists are part of a comprehensive team that gives excellent care to help patients at every step in their healing process, from athletes sore after sports to patients in cancer treatment, from pregnant moms to grandparents.     Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Overview
    Performs therapeutic massage to clients consistent with the Missouri State Board of Therapeutic Massage guideline. Coordinates and merges new information into standards of practice. Responsible for duties associated with smooth client flow and uses appropriate documentation.

     

    Responsibilities
    Primary Responsibilities:


    a. Demonstrates proper time management skills and priority setting.
    b. Turns in superbills and time of service for patient.
    c. Documentation is factual, accurate, organized, complete, current, and confidential.
    d. Identifies patient education needs and utilizes appropriate resources to meet those needs, documenting in medical records.
    e. Interview, assess and compile data and record on a standard and accessible form, using medical history obtained from the client, other health care providers, physical assessment, observation and palpation skills.
    f. Performs and documents therapy intervention and client response to therapy.
    g. Develops and maintains documented standards of practice and updates as necessary.
    h. Works closely with manager in regard to negotiation of coverage for services from insurance companies.
    i. Participates as a team member in department wide events/programs.
    Communication Management:


    a. Works closely with health care professionals to provide therapeutic massage to clients consistent with the certification guideline according to the Missouri State Board of Therapeutic Massage.
    b. Coordinates and merges new information into standards of practice and is responsible for communication of new standards to staff.

    Technology:


    a. Performs technical skills relative to area of therapeutic massage.
    b. Assists in evaluation of new products, equipment, policies, procedures and standards.
    c. Understands applicable and effectual uses of department computer systems.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Qualification 1: Requires certification as a Massage Therapist with the Missouri State Board of Therapeutic Massage
    • Qualification 2: also requires CPR certification.
