    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Responsible for the production of hot food for patient meals, Café and Catering events. Adjustments to production should include the capability of converting recipes with the aid of a calculator and computer access to production software. Baking skills are required for basic dough varieties and specialty pastries. Must provide minimum skills of butchering, soup and sauce preparation. This includes all stock production and mother sauces. Has the authority to provide substitutions of food items when necessary. Give guidance to food techs in regard to production and pars. Provide skills with special menus for elegant upscale catering. Possess the ability to perform in the Demo Chef position. Assist the supervisors with staff scheduling and assume the overall duties in the absence of a supervisor or manager. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

    • Experience: Co-worker must be versed in the handling of institutional equipment with six years direct experience required.
    • Certifications: Current ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification or equivalent.
    • Preferred Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
