    We are seeking a full-time Pain Management Nurse Practitioner to compliment our current Pain Management staff.  Main duties include Evaluation and Management of chronic pain patients (follow-up visits). The clinic utilizes a multidisciplinary approach, treating patients with acute and chronic pain with interventions (like epidural injections, Radio-Frequency lesioning, spinal cord stimulators, etc), medical acupuncture, physical therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and medication management.  The position is a primarily outpatient, but may include occasional inpatient consultation. Essential functions include evaluating patients, determining appropriate diagnostic tests, formulating treatment plans, prescribing medications, and assisting the physicians during all aspects of patient care in the office setting. Candidate must possess excellent people skills, and be a decisive self-motivated problem solver with the ability to work well within a team environment.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

    • Administers office & hospital patient care.
    • Examines patients, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
    • Reviews prior medical records and diagnostic studies.
    • Order diagnostic tests, such as imaging studies, electromyogram/nerve conduction studies, and laboratory tests, as well as interpreting test results for deviations from normal.
    • Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in providing continuity of care.
    • Maintains appropriate level of documentation for patient chart.
    • Provides follow-up treatments and care to patients in accordance with protocols established by physician.
    • Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
    • Promotes vision/mission statement of the group.
    • Other duties may be assigned depending on experience like therapeutic injections, suturing and wound care, etc.
    • Assists physicians with on call schedule rotation duties.

    Education and/or Experience:

    A Master’s Degree in nursing and two to four years of clinical nursing experience required. Candidate must also have an unrestricted RN license in the state of Arkansas. National certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Must be eligible for Certificate of Prescriptive Authority and DEA registration. A focus in pain management/orthopedics is preferred, but we will train the right candidate.

    • Unrestricted RN license in the state of Arkansas
    • National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner

    Other Skills and Abilities

    • Must be able to communicate effectively and maintain a positive rapport with patients and staff members
    • Ability to multitask
    • Electronic medical record and general intermediate computer usage knowledge

    Other Qualifications

    • Self motivated flexible team player
    • Pain Management, Orthopedic and/or surgical experience preferred
    • Bi-lingual/Spanish skills for interpreting a plus
