    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Responsible for the implementation, development, promotion and coordination of the Bariatric/Obesity Medicine Program and services across Mercy East. Responsible for bariatric programs at four Mercy Hospital locations and the ability to achieve and maintain the certifications in Bariatric Center of Excellence.  Additionally, will have responsibility for blending two programs into one comprehensive Obesity Medicine Evaluation & Treatment Strategy.

    • Responsible for creating a business plan for the attainment of goals and objectives established by the Bariatric/Obesity Medicine Program
    • Builds an effective team of leaders by providing guidance and coaching to subordinate managers
    • Directly Manages a staff of 50 plus co-workers which includes: clinical dieticians, nurse navigators, physicians, office staff, and data analysts
    • Work in collaboration with various departments such as Marketing, Sports Medicine, Behavioral Health, Physical Therapy, Specialists, Primary Care and others with regards to all aspects of the programs
    • Demonstrates financial acumen, implements an effective reimbursement program, and develops/manages the budget for the entire department/programs
    • Leads the hospitals (4) in program development to achieve and maintain certification as Bariatric Centers of Excellence
    • Leads the program in terms of quality of care, volume, scope of services, and cost–effectiveness.
    • Leads policy development for the Bariatric Surgical and Obesity Programs
    • Has a deep understanding of Financial Acumen, able to implement effective reimbursement program, and works in collaboration with the hospitals and clinics to develop and manage the budget for the entire department/programs.
    • Ability to manage multiple clinical disciplines with the desire to understand the operations and critical success factors for all areas of responsibility
    • Ability to solve and analyze complex issues
    • Demonstrate success in the ability to manage large numbers of staff to ensure positive employee morale, efficient and cost-effective allocation of resources, and employee retention

    Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in business administration or Healthcare related field
    • 5 to 7 years in a senior leadership role and 3 years in previous experience in bariatric/obesity program preferred.
