    Manages and coordinates the various functions of Managed Care payor and health care provider contracting across Mercy, including assessment of contract performance, contract negotiations, and payor relationships. This responsibility includes all health care services within Mercy, including, hospitals, physicians, ambulatory and home services.


    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Directs the coordination of key contract negotiation strategies with Mercy Hospitals/Regional Managed Care Leaders.

    Participates in major contract negotiations by Payor and Mercy Hospitals.

    Evaluates contract rates, structure, and strategies for major contract negotiations.

    Works with Mercy Revenue Management and Mercy Hospitals Finance and Managed Care leadership and personnel to model and analyze managed care results by plan and by clinical service line. This information and knowledge will be used to develop managed care strategies and prepare for specific contract negotiations.





    Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:


    • Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
    • Ten years of managed care experience

    • Extensive commercial health plan and hospital contracting/network management work experience

    • Knowledge of key negotiation principles and strategies

    • A proven track record of success in the development and implementation of innovative and progressive managed care strategies and contracting principles for negotiation success
