Perform and coordinate a variety of technical and clerical functions in the Health Information Management department in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Medical terminology and clinical skill required to properly scan results into the correct areas of the charts. Maintain a close working relationship with all assigned departments to ensure proper coordination of processes when medical records are received, filed, processed, scanned, analyzed, completed, etc. Execute timely and accurate scanning of documents to support patient care and meet the Quality Measures designated by the ACO. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the organization’s mission, values and Mercy Service Standards.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of two years Health information department experience either in a physician’s office setting or hospital setting.
Other: Knowledge of medical records, productivity standards set for HIM coworkers, clinical information systems as it related to HIM; excellent reason and decision making skills in developing priorities for the HIM chart processing team. Proficient in computer use, including Microsoft Office application; familiar with medical terminology, excellent team building skills and excellent customer service skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks; detail oriented; highly motivated, self starter; ability to work under pressure, handle demanding situations.
Preferred Experience: One year of medical office experience; medical records experience helpful.
