Assists with all aspects of patient care as directed by office manager, nurses and physicians. Has previous experience as medical assistant and demonstrates proficiency.
Proficiently provides patient care as directed by nurses and physicians.
Proficiently maintains examination rooms appropriately, ordering supplies as needed/directed.
Proficiently escorts patient to examination room and takes vital signs. Assist with minimal lift patient transfers as needed.
Proficiently gives muscular injections. Performs glucose testing and glucose meter downloads as needed.
Proficiently assists physicians with ultrasound guided biopsies.
Proficiently calls pharmacy with prescriptions, calls patients with lab, test results.
Proficiently answers phones, schedules appointments, obtains referrals, scans documents, etc.
Performs other duties as needed, including front office duties and assisting with billing workqueues.
Assists with training newly hired medical assistants. May perform additional job related duties as directed or when needs dictate.
Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED. Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program;
Experience: AND two years experience or 4 years comparable experience as a medical assistant. Up to two years specific specialty experience may be required.
Other: Computer skills. Ability to spell correctly. Good communication skills.
