    Responsibilities and Qualifications


    Responsible for maintaining radiation safety standards, calibration of therapeutic equipment, clinical care and other physics related duties of the department. Performs related duties as assigned.



    Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:


    • Education: Master’s degree or above.
    • Licensure: None.
    • Experience: Minimum three years in a comprehensive radiation oncology department.
    • Certifications: Certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiology required.
    • Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Knowledge of modern radiation therapy techniques as applied to clinical care, calibration and care of equipment as required by the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, all aspects of radiation safety related to radiation therapy. Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: Works in modern hospital environment. At all times necessary to provide for efficient operation of department. Exposed to occupational levels of radiation and other hazardous materials present in hospital environment. Physical demands are attached plus push and pull 30 lbs., and grip up to 40 lbs. plus, pinch up to 15 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All equipment used in the performance of calibration, maintenance, and clinical use in a radiation oncology and radiosurgery department.
