Greets and appropriately directs patients via phone calls or direct contact. Maintains waiting room. Performs front office duties as needed. Assists with all aspects of patient care as directed by nurses and physicians. Maintains examination rooms. Calls pharmacy with prescriptions, and patients with test results. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards.
Provides patient care as directed by the Lead Medical Assistant and Physicians.
Performing EKG's, irrigate ears, injections, nebulizer treatments, spirometer testing, etc. Ensure that all injectables have expiration dates on the bottles.
Administrative expectations and other office procedures as required.
Scanning documents in to EPIC, monitor waiting room, and patient exam room. Monitor the fax machine and distribute correspondence to the appropriate areas in the office, monitor and remove any and all expired medication samples from sample closet, etc.
Escorts patients to examination room and takes vital signs with accuracy. Will monitor and maintain the Daily Visit Planner and the Health Maintenance section of the patients chart for every patient.
Enter all information into EPIC, print off medication refills after removing and updating the medication list for every patient so that physician can sign the prescription, must get accurate information when entering pharmacy phone numbers and locations. Complete documents as needed by patient for physician signature, including FMLA, Pre-op physicals, Work /School Physicals, Adoption, Disability, etc.
Answers and screens telephone calls. Route to the appropriately individual.
This includes MyMercy and E-Visit messages. All these calls must be screened and handled appropriately and in a timely manner. This will also include messages left on your voice mailbox. Voice mailbox will be monitored throughtout the day, and no messages left at the end of the day.
Will monitor and work various reports as part of the "Population Health Management".
Reports consist of the Gap Report, Reminder Report, etc.
Work the front desk position (check-out) as needed.
Schedule patient appointments, schedule ancillary tests, complete referrals in EPIC, scanning documents in to EPIC, rescheduling of patients for physicians when out of the office, etc.
Call in prescriptions, call patients with test results, etc.
Provide patient with instructions in a positive attitude and tone of voice.
