Under the direction of the Executive Director of Quality Management, the Clinical Outcomes Manager is responsible for providing the organization, management and influence to support clinical performance improvement initiatives for St. John’s Mercy Health Care. This position will interact with and influence individuals and groups of physicians, office managers, nurse managers, process improvement teams and other co-workers by providing clinical process improvement support. A strong depth of general acute care clinical knowledge is a pre-requisite for this position. The skills and ability to research current evidence-based medicine, develop algorithms, and create standardized Epic order sets are key responsibilities. Auditing medical records, use of spreadsheet and data base software and developing, modeling and teaching the principles of performance improvement in a complex environment are critical job duties for this position. The person in this position must be able to present clinical information to physicians and co-workers in a credible and knowledgeable fashion. This position is responsible for influencing processes and patterns of care throughout the institution, in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness of patient care.
