    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Performs mammography examinations, needle localizations and stereotactic biopsy procedures. Performs Quality Control activities. Schedules procedures and stocks rooms as requested.






    Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:


    • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
    • Licensure: Credentialed in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Willing to become certified in Mammography as soon as qualifications for testing have been met.
    • Experience: A minimum of one year working in a hospital setting.
    • Certifications: Must have a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within their probation period.
    • Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Demonstrated skill in performing radiology procedures; ability to stand and walk a majority of the time during assigned hours; ability to lift, move and transport patients from wheelchairs and carts; communicate effectively with patients and their families; communicate effectively verbally and in writing with physicians, staff members and managers. Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: Clean, temperature-controlled area. Standing and walking required. Equipment Used: Mammography equipment, computer, copier, fax.
