    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Overview

    System administration of enterprise healthcare Windows Client infrastructure including System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Group Policy, InTune, Application Virtualization, Windows update, client health, hardware selection, drivers, imaging and other major technologies that impact these areas.  Provide ongoing support, maintenance, and improvements to the environment.

     

    Involves working with business application owners to design and implement new technology, improve the overall system from infrastructure to endpoint configuration, and support the existing system ensuring availability, recoverability, and performance integrity through production support and maintenance.  All positions in this job family participate, to some degree, in the following activities:

     

    Design – Researching, recommending and designing new technologies, new configurations and enhancements to existing systems; providing consulting advice to customers on the capabilities of technology and the network environment

     

    Deployment / Implementation – Planning and executing the implementation of new applications or system integration testing

     

    Production Support – Configuring, monitoring, troubleshooting, assisting and enhancing customer support

    Responsibilities

    Administration of System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) infrastructure design, upgrades, system health, and performance improvements.

     

    Research and plan future management of Windows infrastructure and clients based on Microsoft technologies.

     

    Works closely with other Windows system administrators and may have responsibilities or opportunity to work with application packaging or Mobile Device Management administrators.

     

    Proactively defines, configures, and monitors systems performance and capacity.

     

    Assist other business teams that rely on SCCM for patching or application deployment.  Provide guidance to build reports that show the system health and patch compliance.

     

    Advise business application owners in design of new application deployment and system capabilities and constraints.

     

    Works outside immediate discipline to coordinate with other business groups in coordinated troubleshooting efforts.

    Career Level Characteristics

    Experience in Windows Administration using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager

     

    Proficiency applying IT methods, professional knowledge, Mercy standards and practices to complex tasks and situations

     

    Ability to build keep effective work relationships with business partners, professional peers, and other team members

     

    Willingness to coach others from less experienced IT professionals or those who are technology challenged

     

    Keep up-to-date with new technologies and documentation to ensure operational and functional services

     

    Respond to unfamiliar, undefined, unexpected, or unstable situations with technical recommendations and professional courtesy

     

    Operate with minimal supervision

    Education

    Bachelor's degree in related field, specialized training, or equivalent work experience

    Experience

    Five (5) years of relevant technical or business work experience

    Additional Requirements

    Understand basic network concepts. 
    Solid understanding of a variety of operating systems.
    Ability to work in a complex technical environment.
