    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Responsible for developing and maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction with centralized education services for clinical co-workers including but not limited to those serving in inpatient, ambulatory, home care and long-term care settings. Assists with strategic planning for consolidated clinical education services offered at local levels. This position leads clinic education services scope: orientation, competency program, in-service education, and continuing education in assigned community. Serves as a trainer and leader for the Mercy University - Clinic Academy program in the community assigned working with Training Manager – Clinic Education and peer TDO trainers and Mercy University – Clinic Academy site operational leaders to assist with the development and enforcement of policies, procedures, and operational training content. This individual must be willing to cross departmental lines and assist operationally when patient needs recommend it. This individual must be able to fill in for peer Training Coordinators in their assigned community when a position is vacant and licensure allows. This individual must be willing to integrate into the clinic setting at designated Mercy University – Clinic Academy site and partner with site operational leader to ensure TDO training goals and operational goals are aligned. Ensures Mercy Values and Charisms are reflected in all aspects of training in the assigned community. Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

     

    • Embrace strategic vision, balancing knowledge and understanding of Mercy-wide, Communities, and TDO-specific plans and goals. Take a support role in the promotion of Mercy-wide, Communities and TDO-specific initiatives.
    • Responsible for the day-to-day training of clinic co-workers.
    • Provides oversight and demonstrates ownership for training curriculum through installation and on-going improvement.
    • Work with the Training Manager – Clinic Education to provide support during the implementation of TDO clinic education projects, change management, and performance improvement focused on behavior modification or change.
    • Responsible for the coordination, delivery, and facilitation of education and training in the community assigned for leader and co-worker audiences with confidence, preparedness, and polished platform skills
    • Leads and develops assigned clinic co-workers within the assigned community through ongoing feedback, coaching, and performance management.
    • Support Mercy design of training and education modules, blending sound best practice research, adult learning techniques, creativity, and the mission, values, charisms, and vision of the Sisters of Mercy.
    • Steward resources through wise utilization of time allotment, human resources, and designated space to ensure excellent training outcomes.
    • Able to lead medical intervention training/education emergency initiatives in the case of disease outbreak  
    • Work with the Training Manager – Clinic Education to establish standards for workflow, policy, and behavior competency in the Mercy University – Clinic Academy setting and in the curriculum for the assigned community.
    • Work with the Training Manager – Clinic Education and clinic leaders to identify and manage co-worker, both new and existing, training progress to ensure optimal training outcomes are achieved in the community assigned.
    • Conducts regular status evaluations of training clinic co-workers incorporating feedback from all individuals participating in their training. Feedback from these evaluations will be shared with clinic leaders and the co-workers themselves to ensure appropriate training progress.
    • Obtain and maintain certification in all clinic positions as licensure allows.
    • Maintain all external certification and licensure per Ministry requirements and state law.
    • Performs other work duties as assigned
    • THE CLINICAL TRAINING COORDINATOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR TRAINING CLINIC NURSES, MEDICAL ASSISTANTS, AND OTHER CLINICAL CO-WORKERS.

    Minimum Required Qualifications

    Education:

    Associate's Degree or comparable experience in a clinical, educational, or management area of expertise. Must be a certified Medical Assistant or licensed nurse.

    • Able to travel within the community as needed, with occasional assistance in neighboring communities possible.

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    Education:

    Bachelor's Degree in a clinical, educational, or management area of expertise. Advanced clinical education and/or training/education certification desirable.

    Licensure:

    Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse

    Experience:

    Three (3) years experience in training and development, one (1) year clinic experience, and three (3) years of experience leading people, processes or projects.

    Certification/Registration:

    Advanced clinical education and/or training/education certification desirable
