    Responsibilities and Qualifications

     

    Provides medical treatment to clinic and hospital patients under the supervision of physician/medical director. Required to be trained, certified, and licensed to take medical histories, conduct physical examinations, and diagnose and treat medical problems.  Performs duties and responsibilites in a manner consistent with our mission, values and Mercy Service Standards.

     

    • Must apply evidence-based medicine principles in the evaluation and management of clinic and hospital patients. ocumentation (to include, notes, history and physical, discharge summaries, prescription, and clinical orders) must be complete, legible, and timely.
    • Chart completion must comply with medical staff rules and regulations.
    • Must provide timely feedback to patients, caregivers, families, colleagues and other healthcare providers on the patient's status as appropriate and necessary
    • Adheres to quality standards in the treatment of all patients.
    • Must adhere to the signed contractual agreement delineating assessments and treatment protocols with the Medical Director.
    • Must have the ability to plan and carry out medical protocols and work effectively with other disciplines and have knowledge of the physicians assistant principles and practices.
    • Performs scope of practice within the guidelines of the "Ethical and Religious Directives for the Catholic Health Care Services."
    • Utilizes resources in a cost-effective manner
    • Maintains confidentiality of patients, employees, and clinic at all times.
    • Maintain an orderly, neat, and sanitary working environment.
    • Adhere to universal precautions protocol.
    • Participate in SEMMC network, community-based projects and committees, as appropriate

     

    Qualifications:

     

    Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:

     

    Education:

    • Must be a graduate of an accredited school with appropriate credentials and current license in the State of Arkansas.
    • National Certification for prescriptive authority are required.

    Licensure: Current PA license to practice in the State of Arkansas

    Certifications: BLS required

    Other: Excellent communication and listening skills required

    Preferred Experience: Five or more years of experience as a PA is preferred.
