    Responsibilities and Qualifications


    Assure the delivery of safe & high quality imaging patient care. Responsible for the management and operation of imaging department(s) within the Mercy Bolivar Multispecialty Clinic. Ensures efficient utilization of available resources and meets productivity and/or financial goals. Meets customer satisfaction goals. Works collaboratively and effectively with other administrative personnel, physicians, and staff from other areas throughout the Health System to enhance communication, share pertinent data, and improve processes across the continuum.




    1. Manages daily workflow and activities of the Imaging departments to ensure safe, efficient & quality services.


    2. Ensures accurate & timely completion of tests conducive to meet patient care requirements.


    3. Budget: Continually monitors and maintains department(s) within budgetary guidelines:

    a. Prepares annual capital and operating budget.

    b. Prepares schedule to meet budgetary requirements.

    c. Monitors supply usage and equipment to meet budgetary requirements.


    4. Communication:

    a. Utilizes Mercy Service communication techniques in all interactions.

    b. Develops and maintains effective communications with patient and significant others.

    c. Develops and maintains effective working relationships and communication with administrative co-workers, physicians, and other Health System co-workers to share pertinent data, improve patient care processes, and improve the quality of care delivered.


    5. Regulatory:

    a. Supports policies and procedures; participates in writing, reviewing, and/or revising as needed.

    b. Leads the facility in meeting regulatory requirements:

    i. The ACR Accreditation

    ii. Corporate Compliance

    iii. DOT Regulations

    iv. HIPAA

    v. CMS

    vi. Core Measure Indicators

    vii. Mo Department of Health

    viii. The Joint Commission

    ix. MQSA/FDA

    x. Other unit specific requirements


    6. Administers a quality improvement program. Provides a seamless environment focused on delivering of high quality services for all patients.


    7. Human Resources/Staff Development:

    a. Interviews prospective co-workers and ensure they fit the Mercy philosophy (Hire to Fit).

    b. Provides co-worker counseling as necessary in accordance with Mercy Administrative Policies.

    c. Upholds and enforces Mercy policies and procedures.

    d. Resolves conflicts among co-workers as they arise and ensure the work environment is safe and co-worker friendly.

    e. Conducts probationary and annual evaluations of co-worker competency in a timely manner.

    f. Provides co-worker recognition as appropriate and ensures the work environment remains positive and nurturing.


    8. Patient Satisfaction: In regard to patient satisfaction at the Mercy Branson Multispecialty Clinic, co-worker problem solves and performs follow-up activities to respond to and resolve complex situations that arise with:

    a. Patients/significant others

    b. Physicians

    c. Management staff in nursing and other departments as appropriate

    d. Other healthcare facilities

    e. Community resources

    f. Follows the National Patient Safety Goals to properly identify the correct patient for each exam.


    9. Staffing:

    a. Ensures appropriate mix of licensed and non-licensed co-workers

    b. Ensures appropriate and adequate supplies and equipment are available in a timely manner.

    c. Sets good example for co-workers


    10. Participates in professional and educational activities.


    11. Participates in multidisciplinary committees to meet the goals and objectives of the Mission.


    12. Wears proper personal protective equipment when appropriate. Observes universal precautions. Wears clothing and Health System badge consistent with dress code, and attends to personal hygiene to maintain a clean, well-groomed appearance. Meets Health System attendance standards.


    13. Performs related duties as assigned.


    Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:


    Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.

    Licensure: Holds American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification or equivalent and active registration in Radiography.

    Experience: Shall document the equivalent of two years full-time professional experience as a Radiographer and supervisory experience is suggested.

    Certification/Registration: Mist have a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within their probation period.

    Other: Shall be proficient in supervision, instruction and evaluation. This individual must be capable of: Manipulating x-ray equipment, including mobile and other equipment; carrying cassettes; selecting and manipulating exposure factors; evaluating radiographs; lifting, moving, and transporting patients; continual standing and walking; recognizing emergency situations; adapting to stressful situations; communicating. Equipment Used: This individual should be proficient in the use of: Radiographic Equipment, Radiographic Imaging Processors, Computers.
