    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    This position is responsible for coordinating, preparing, analyzing and presenting analyses of capital projects, CON reports, business opportunities, new services, and other complex financial analyses.

    • Completes complex financial analyses and present formal reports to organizational leadership, including executive staffThis includes responding to urgent ad-hoc requests from senior management for analyses of critical financial and operational issues. This typically involves service line analyses, acquisitions analyses, capital purchase analyses, cost saving opportunities and other financial analyses identified by management.
    • Evaluation of lease vs. buy alternatives.
    • Evaluation of contract proposals.
    • Prepares financial analyses to support CON submitted by Mercy East.
    • Other miscellaneous activities to support the Finance Department.
    • Preparation of the long-range financial plan.
    • Preparation and monitoring of the capital budget.


    Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
    • At least five years of financial analysis experience, with experience in a healthcare setting.
    • Significant experience with EPSi software preferred.
    • Excellent communications skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information.
    • Ability to work with persons at all levels of the organization, including physicians and administrators.
    • Demonstrated ability to frame analytical questions, perform technical financial analyses, balance time, communicate results of analyses through clear written, graphical, and oral presentation and maintain collaborative work relationships through employment of assertive consulting techniques.
    • Must work independently to meet project deadlines.
    • High level of proficiency in PC applications, including (but not limited to) Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with Microsoft Access is desired.
