    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    An Optician assists patients in purchasing glasses, writes up orders and charges, checks and verifies completed orders, notifies patient when orders are ready or if there is a delay. Performs adjustments on glasses, maintains optical supplies and frames. Assists in lab when necessary. Answers telephone calls concerning optical; verifies monthly optical statement for payment; jointly works toward smooth and efficient operation in optical.     Qualifications:

    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Experience: Must have good telephone and communication skills.
    • Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Must be able to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and policies. Must be able to communicate clearly and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public. Equipment Used: Previous experience with work on lensometer preferred.
