A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the clinical director or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders.
Performs all aspects of SLEEP recordings according to departmental policy and in a professional and personalized manner.
Obtains and documents a general history from all patients which includes a diagnosis and medications 100% of the time.
Prepares patient and applies electrodes using the international 10-20 system, 100% of the time, and routinely within 30 minutes.
Recognizes artifacts on recording with an attempt to eliminate from 80% of the time. Requests assistance when in question

Education: Must be a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or approved to sit for Board test. Must have a high school diploma or equilvant.
Licensure: Oklahoma state licensed RECAP with eligibility for the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential and the desire to become registered in poysomnography.
Experience: Eighteen months in a Sleep Disorders Center or working as a Respiratory Therapist
Certifications: Must have current CPR
Other: Basic Computer knowledge.
Preferred Licensure: RPSGT with one year of scoring experience or licensed RRT with one year of scoring experience.
Preferred Experience: Associates degree and and successful completion of the A-STEP program.
Preferred Certifications: Registered by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT).
Preferred Other: The ability to score sleep studies including the generation of reports.
