    Responsibilities and Qualifications


    Provides patient care by organizing and conducting medically prescribed programs in order to achieve maximum potential. Displays advanced treatment skills and assists Team Leader or Supervisor. Promotes growth and development of department by assisting in special projects and/or coordinating activities in patient care programs.



    Safety/Risk Management:
    a. Infection control.
    b. PatientÂ’s rights protection.
    c. Fall prevention.
    d. Maintains safe workplace.
    e. Properly uses, stores and transports all medical gas equipment

    Coordination of Services:
    a. Documentation.
    b. Facilitate the therapy process.
    c. Delegation.
    d. Charge management.
    e. Scheduling.
    f. Decision-making support.
    g. Quality management.
    h. Coordination of care with team.


    Primary Aspects:
    a. Patient/family teaching.
    b. Implementation of plan of care.
    c. Professional growth and development.
    d. Team Performance.
    e. Departmental participation.
    f. Miscellaneous tasks.


    Complex Aspects:
    a. Create plan of care.
    b. MDS management.
    c. Discharge planning.
    d. Student management.


    Communication Management:
    a. Customer service/guest relations.
    b. Telephone and beeper management.
    c. Positive interdisciplinary communication.


    a. Equipment management.
    b. Computer management.


    Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:


    Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
    Licensure: Licensed/Registered to practice in the state of Missouri
    Certifications: CPR for the professional
    Other: Must be able to respond to emergency situations.
